Upload works two ways depending on how you use The Forge. Subscribers use their daily credit. Everyone else can convert a single file without a subscription.
If you're on Type It, Make It, or Own It — upload directly inside the Forge UI. Your upload follows your engine permissions and uses 1 credit from your daily allowance. No extra charge. No separate flow.

Not every engine accepts uploads — upload follows the same rules as generation. 3D Print does not accept uploads. Everything else does.

Accepted File Types
What You Can Upload
The Forge accepts the most common image formats. For best results, use PNG with a transparent or white background.
💡 Tips for Best Results
High contrast works best. Dark subject on light background gives the engine the clearest signal to work with.
Simple shapes convert cleaner. The more complex your source image, the more processing is required. Bold, simple artwork produces the best machine-ready output.
Embroidery tip: For DST/PES output, upload a clean flat design — no gradients, no photographic texture. Bold cartoon-style artwork digitizes best.
